Delhi Dynamos travel to the Mumbai Football Arena on Saturday hoping to clinch their first win of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2018-19 season. Having picked up just three points from their four fixtures so far, the club from the capital have paid the price for being wasteful in front of goal – something that coach Josep Gombau will surely look to fix.

Ahead of his team’s encounter against Mumbai, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Delhi’s Dutch center-back Gianni Zuiverloon.

Thoughts on Delhi Dynamos FC’s start to the season.

I don’t think it’s the best start to the season. We could’ve done a lot better but it’s about the progress and we could have won like two or three games already. Unfortunately, we drew three games, but I think it will be a lot better in the next couple of weeks.

What brought you to the Hero ISL? And thoughts on your experience so far.

Experience has been good. I mean it’s very good, organised and everything is done well. The pitches are really good and the stadiums are really nice. What made me come to India? Yeah, I don’t know. The adventure I think and until now, it’s been really good.

Thoughts on coach Gombau and his style of play.

Last year I played in Spain, so it’s similar to the Spanish league. The way he wants to play, he's Spanish himself. So, it’s just football, it’s only football. So, I’m used to that and also to the technique. So, for me it’s easy to adapt.

Do you believe the team has been able to play according to the coach’s plan?

Like I said, it’s a progress and for everyone. It’s a new style and a new way of football and it’s a lot of football, but I think day-by-day, step-by-step, it’s getting better and better. Like I said, soon it will all come together and you will see it on the pitch as well.

Does Mumbai City FC losing 5-0 in their last game give your team an advantage?

Well it’s always difficult to play against a team that lost 5-0 because they are extra hungry to win the next game. So, I think, every game in this league will be different and every game in this league is difficult. It’s not an easy game in this league. So, I think, we have to do our best. Of course, maybe their confidence is a little bit down, but like I said every game is a different game. So, we have to do our best to win the game against Mumbai City FC.
