Jamshedpur FC cruised to a 3-1 victory over Hyderabad FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Hyderabad on Tuesday. This was the team’s second win in as many matches in Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20.

After the match, Jamshedpur FC’s Farukh Choudhary – who scored the team’s first goal and set up the second – shared his thoughts about the match in the post-match interview. Here are the excerpts:

Thoughts on the match.

It feels really good. I am happy we won the match after we were 1-1. Everyone gave their best. I am really happy I could help out with a goal and an assist.

Talk us through the goal.

I had a chance to score before scoring the first goal. Mobashir Rahman played a through ball. I stretched for it but Kamaljit saved it. I was waiting. Whenever someone took a shot, I decided I had to go for the rebound. I think I got my chance to score there.

Top of the points table with two wins from two. What are your feelings?

It feels good and gives us confidence. We are going to enjoy this win but tomorrow onwards, we also have to look at what mistakes we made. We have to work on them and come back for the Bengaluru match but as of now, we have to enjoy this victory.

What was the half-time talk from the head coach like?

It was the same situation that we had against Odisha FC in the first match, I guess. Few of us were irritated. We were leading by a goal but conceded a silly goal at the end of the half. The coach is always calm. He told us, ‘What’s done is done. Now we have to look forward. You have to give your best in the second-half and you will get your goals. We are going to win the match.’

Thoughts on the upcoming match against Bengaluru FC?

They are a great team. All the players have been playing together for a long time. We are going to ready ourselves in the next four days and see what comes our way.

Message to the fans.

I want to thank each and every one present in the stadium and my family, friends and everyone watching on TV. It really motivates us. Thank you for the support.

From Hyderabad’s end, midfielder Adil Khan had a few words to say about the loss.

Thoughts on today’s match.

I’m disappointed. We did well in the first-half, seriously. In the second-half, we could not keep up the same shape and silly individual mistakes is costing us.

This is your second loss, that too by a big margin. What do you think is going wrong?

We need to regroup as a team and do what we do best. We need to make proper decisions to come out of the situations at the back. Too many errors, so, I don’t know what to say.

Your next match is at home against Kerala Blasters. What are the expectations?

Starting with the injuries, Rafa’s (Rafael Lopez Gomez) injury and Gani’s (Gani Nigam) injury. These injuries are troublesome for us. But we will try to regroup and get a good result against Kerala Blasters. They are tough, we know they are very tough as a team. But we got to pull our socks up and go for the rest of the matches.

Mood in the camp?

The mood is bad, to tell you frankly it was really bad. We lost against ATK 5-0 and today 3-1 so I think it is going to be a bad season for us if we don’t regroup as soon as possible. If we don’t pull our socks up and don’t do what we have planned to do in the matches, then it will be a trouble for us.
