FC Goa will look to confirm their place in the 2018-19 Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) final alongside Bengaluru FC, when they take on Mumbai City FC in the second leg of their semi-final encounter at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Tuesday. The Gaurs come into this tie, holding a healthy 5-1 advantage and are firm favourites to progress.

Ahead of the crunch tie, Chinglensana Singhspoke to indiansuperleague.com about the Goa squad and what to expect from Mumbai. Here are the excerpts:

What were the team's preparations before entering the first leg?

We were really well prepared. We were training well and we had a finishing drill as well before the match. We are an attacking team, but we have defended really well in the last 10 matches. So, going forward, we will be scoring goals as we have an idea that suits our style. That is our head coach's idea and we followed these instructions. We scored and that was the score; 5-1.

What do you think was the reason behind FC Goa's brilliant display in the first leg?

We were down 1-0 and they were defending really deep. We got the equaliser and then the match opened up. We went on to score five goals, we stuck to our plans, played our brand of football and never changed the idea throughout the 90 minutes. As you see with the substitutions as well, our head coach is really attack-minded. So, we wanted to score more and we are very lucky and happy that we got the goals that we wanted.

What will the plans be for the second leg?

Our idea will be the same. We will love to play the football that we are known for. We will do the same thing as we always do. Every match is the same for us and we won't relax or be complacent. We will go all out to win, as we want a victory at our home before the final.

Mumbai City FC have nothing to lose now and will go all out. Is that a disadvantage?

They're a very dangerous side. They will go all out to score goals and that might give us an opportunity as it will open up spaces behind. So, we can exploit that and our head coach knows what's best. Going forward, as I said before, we only want to win the match.
