Sunil Chhetri made his first Hero Indian Super League 2016 appearance in Mumbai City FC's encounter against FC Pune City at the Mumbai Football Arena on Thursday evening. The Indian striker returned from participation in the AFC Cup but failed to inspire the Mumbaikars as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat in the second Maharashtra derby of the season. However, despite the defeat Mumbai continued being second in the standings. Chhetri, who scored seven goals for Mumbai City last season, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match and discussed his return and the defeat. Here are the excerpts from the interview.Tough luck at the game today. How does it feel to be back with the team and these fans?It feels good to be back with the team and it feels great to play in front of the fans but not a great result to start with. We had a number of chances but they got the goal in the end.Do you think the result should have been different, considering you had quite a few chances? No matter how many chances you get if you don’t convert them, then it’s of no use. I think we played better than them and had more chances but ended up losing and that tells you how important it is to convert your chances.Lastly, what are your thoughts on Mumbai City FC’s semis chances? To be honest, I was not thinking much about the semis and I am taking one game at time and that’s how I want it to be.
