Spanish striker Sergio Castel's late strike gave a ten-man Jamshedpur FC a 2-1 win over newcomers Odisha FC in their first match of Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 at the JRD TATA Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on Tuesday.

After the tie, the match-winner shared his thoughts about the win in a post-match interview with indiansuperleague.com. Here are the excerpts:

Debut match for Jamshedpur FC and a winning goal. How do you feel?

It feels very good because it was my first game in front of Jamshedpur fans. It was very important because we got the win. I’m very happy for the team.

How does it feel to get the win after going one man down?

It feels that win is more important because we played almost the whole game with a player less. The head coach told us that we had to be passionate. We are very fast on the counter-attack. We did use that to our benefit.

How did it feel to play in front of the home crowd?

It was amazing. They were important to us today because they helped us all the time. I want to thank them for their support today.

Talk us through the goal?

Well, I was waiting and making sure that I wasn’t straying offside. Piti is an amazing player who saw me. I saw that the keeper was coming up to me, so I decided to chip it.

From the Odisha FC camp, Jerry Mawhmingthanga, who played for Jamshedpur FC last season, narrated his thoughts. Here's what he said.

How did it feel to come back to Jamshedpur?

It's amazing to play in the Furnace. We tried our best but couldn't win the match.

On the loss.

It's a learning process. We will learn from it and come back stronger.
