With just two points from their first six matches, FC Pune City are languishing at the bottom of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 table and will be out looking for their maiden win of the season when they face ATK at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan on Saturday.

Ahead of the crucial match, indiansuperleague.com managed to catch up with Pune defender Ashutosh Mehta, who will be up against his former team, for an interview. Here's what he had to say.

How is the mood in the camp?

Not a great start to the season, but nothing is impossible in football. In football, there is always a hope, always a way, every second, every minute. So, I think we just need to keep things simple and make the most of it.

How is the team trying to improve the defence?

I think it’s not just the defence. You cannot blame only the defence. It’s the entire team because in football you defend as a team, you attack as a team so it’s the entire unit. Of course, the coach is trying to fix things up and hopefully, we get a positive result.

Thoughts on Pradyum Reddy.

Coach Pradyum knows Indian football for a very long time. I think nobody knows Indian football better than him at the moment so the experience has been really good.

Thoughts on possibly getting the first win of the season.

You know sometimes things don’t go your way but I think you need to fight until the end. We just need to keep working hard, keep things very simple, and make the most of it.

On playing your former team.

It’s always special to play against your former team and ATK was my former team. I’m very excited to play against them.
