Stephen Constantine, the head coach of Indian national team, has announced his final 23-man squad who will represent the nation in the inaugural Hero Intercontinental Cup in Mumbai. A total of 20 players from the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) have booked their spot in the team.

First-team regulars Sunil Chhetri, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Udanta Singh and Jeje Lalpekhlua all make the squad as expected, while FC Pune City youngster Ashique Kuruniyan and Bengaluru FC defender Subhasish Bose earn their first call-up to the national side, owing to their impressive performances in the 2017-2018 season.

Constantine had announced a preliminary 30-man squad for a preparatory camp earlier this month. The camp served as the perfect opportunity for the Englishman to assess the quality of players at his disposal before deciding his final squad. The selected players will have to make their chance count as they compete for a spot in the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2019.

The Hero Intercontinental Cup kicks-off from June 1 with hosts India taking on Chinese Taipei at the Mumbai Football Arena. The Blue Tigers then go up against Kenya on June 4 before clashing swords with New Zealand on June 8. The Final will see the top two teams from the four-nation tournament face-off against each other on June 10th.

The 23-member squad is as follows:
