Pre-season round up: How are the teams faring?

With less than a month remaining before Indian football’s grandest extravaganza, the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) gets underway, the teams have been flying around the globe fine-tuning their squad and getting valuable minutes under their belts. All teams have been sweating it out and getting match-fit in their own set of pre-season friendly fixtures as they gear up for a long and testing campaign. Here’s a round-up of each team’s latest exploits.

True champions know how to win regardless of the circumstances. Touring the United Arab Emirates, defending champions ATK did what they do best: win.

Away from their den, it’s hunting time for the Lions in Qatar. Their latest victim was the Army Team as Delhi Dynamos FC ended their tour with a roar!

Last year’s semi-finalists will play their final friendly fixtures before the ISL begins back in their own hunting ground.

It was not all smooth sailing for Hero ISL 2015 champions though. While Thailand is a fun place to be, Chennaiyin FC found it tough going against Thai Port FC.

Not dwelling much on that setback, Chennai are gearing up for their third challenge of the tour.

If Spain is the land of Bull fighting, it’s safe to say that the Gaurs are certainly up to the task!

Another team having a blast in Spain are the men in yellow. Kerala Blasters FC didn’t sweat too much to get past their opponents from Segunda Division B.

Also in Spain, Mumbai City FC showed fortitude in their most recent challenge by refusing to get beat!

Thailand though is proving to be hostile for ISL teams so far as newbies Jamshedpur FC can also attest for.

However, the other debutants, Bengaluru FC are warming their feet on familiar territory. The Blues eased past I-League-outfit East Bengal.

Prior to announcing their new co-owner Arjun Kapoor, the Stallions hosted Chanmari FC at Balewadi and enjoyed a goal-fest against the Mizoram club.

The Highlanders too made the most of home comforts by leaving their opponent from Manipur high and dry!
