The 2026–27 MG ISL season is set to kick off on 10 October, with clubs entering the campaign after strengthening and reshaping their squads during the transfer window. With the competition returning to a full home-and-away format, teams have made a number of additions across different areas of the pitch.

The latest transfer window has seen a mix of experienced Indian players, emerging domestic talent and international recruits join clubs across the MG ISL. Several players will also be making their return to the competition, adding familiarity and experience to their new squads.

Among the notable moves, Lallianzuala Chhangte has joined Mohun Bagan Super Giant after his spell with Mumbai City FC. The winger brings extensive MG ISL experience to his new club, while the Mariners have also added players including Dejan Drazic, Samir Zeljkovic, Miguel Figueira and Rahul Bheke as part of their squad reshaping.

East Bengal FC have also made several additions ahead of the new campaign, including Nsungusi Effiong and Dani Ramírez. Chris Ikonomidis is another international arrival, adding further experience to the Kolkata-based side.

Mumbai City FC have undergone changes of their own, bringing in a number of experienced and international players. Carlos Delgado, Sergio Llamas, Leandro Otormín, Wilmar Jordán Gil and Lazar Ćirković are among the players who have joined the Islanders, while the club has also added younger Indian players to its squad.

FC Goa have also welcomed a familiar face back to the club, with Jorge Ortiz returning to the Gaurs after previously featuring in the MG ISL. The club has combined the return of experienced players with further additions as it prepares for the new season.

Kerala Blasters FC have strengthened their squad with the arrival of experienced goalkeeper Amrinder Singh and midfielder Mohammad Yasir. Amrinder brings more than 150 MG ISL appearances to the squad, while Yasir returns to Kerala after previously featuring in the competition with other clubs. The Kerala-based side have also added young forward Mohammed Sanan, giving the squad another attacking option ahead of the campaign.

Elsewhere, clubs have continued to invest in emerging Indian players. NorthEast United FC have added Pramveer Singh, while Chennaiyin FC have brought in Brison Fernandes and Ayush Chhetri. These moves add to the growing number of young Indian players taking on new challenges within the MG ISL.

The transfer window has also brought players with experience from different footballing backgrounds into the competition. From established Indian internationals to overseas recruits and younger domestic players, clubs have taken different approaches to building their squads for the season ahead.

With the 2026–27 MG ISL season beginning on 10 October, the new arrivals will now have the opportunity to settle into their respective squads, adapt to new systems and take the field for their new clubs as the campaign gets underway.
