Our match against Delhi Dynamos tomorrow is surely going to be one every Punekar will be watching with much anticipation! Another must win match for coach Franco Colombo’s boys; it will be interesting to see how we hold up against the resurgent forces of Harm van Veldhoven. After a much-needed win which saw some inspired performances by the likes of Park Kwang-Il, Dudu and Jermaine Pennant against Mumbai City FC in the Maha Derby last Wednesday, the home team will definitely be raring to score full points against a Delhi side which drew against a rampant Atletico de Kolkata last Tuesday. However, with 13 goals and an average ball possession of almost 48%, the visiting team will be far from pushovers themselves. While their earlier goal-less encounter in Delhi, was pegged as a showdown between two of the biggest names in the tournament, Del Piero and Trezeguet respectively; recent matches have shown us that players of the caliber of Vadocz, Mads Junker, Dos Santos and Kostas are equally capable of rising to the occasion. While the midfield duo of Kostas and Park prised open the unimpressive Mumbai City FC midfield with ease, the same might not play out as easily against the likes of Francis, Santos, Dias and Bhargav. The changed formation with Dudu as the lone striker up front also allowed Lenny to create formidable runs down the right wing with help from Pennant. The defence once again looked solid with Arindam (who even saved an all-important penalty in the last match), Cirillo and Wadoo holding strong yet again. For Delhi, it will be interesting to see if coach Veldhoven will start Del Piero, who has been warming the bench for most of the matches for Delhi so far. Either way, be rest assured to witness a thriller. C’mon Punekars be there to cheer out loud from the stands as we go into our last home game, let’s all come together and cheer for FC Pune City.
