ISL Fantasy, Matchweek 4 Preview: Transfer trends, top buys and more
A look at the best picks, differential options and transfer trends ahead of Matchweek 4 of ISL Fantasy.
ISL Fantasy MW4 Deadline: Saturday, October 21, 04:00* PM IST
*Early Deadline
The Indian Super League (ISL) is all set to resume this Saturday with a doubleheader, following a two-week international break. Matchweek 4 of ISL Fantasy represents the first true challenge for managers since it comprises only four matches.
During this week, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, Mumbai City FC, Odisha FC, and Bengaluru FC will have no matches, potentially enticing fantasy managers to consider using the 'Free Hit' chip. Nonetheless, some managers may opt to save it, given the early stage of the season. Undoubtedly, this week marks the beginning of a real test for managers.
Matchweek 3 Summary
Mourtada Fall, owned by 29% of fantasy managers, achieved the highest points tally of this season with an impressive 13 points.
Noah Sadaoui, a key player in 33% of teams, delivered an outstanding performance for the second consecutive week, solidifying his status as a must-have player in your team.
Sahal Abdul Samad had a fantastic match against Chennaiyin FC, rewarding his owners with an eight-point haul.
Jamshedpur FC's goalkeeper, Rehenesh TP, priced at ₹4.6 CR, secured his second clean sheet of the season.
Meanwhile, Parthib Gogoi and Jorge Pereyra Diaz continued their goal-scoring streak for the third consecutive match. Unfortunately, Adrian Luna, one of the most-owned players, had a challenging outing, managing only one point to his name.
Matchweek 4: What to expect?
FC Goa, who have displayed solid performances in their first two matches, will kick off Matchweek 4 as they face East Bengal FC on Saturday. Meanwhile, Kerala Blasters FC returns home to host NorthEast United FC on the same date.
Jamshedpur FC, fresh off their first win of the season last week, will take on Punjab FC at their home ground. This presents an opportunity for fantasy managers to consider holding onto defensive players from the Jamshedpur FC side.
Hyderabad FC and Chennaiyin FC will both be eager to secure their first wins of the season, potentially making this encounter one with plenty of goals. Notably, this will be Hyderabad FC's first home match of the season.

What the managers are thinking?
NorthEast United FC star Parthib Gogoi who has scored in all three opening matches for the Highlanders, is the most highly transferred-in player ahead of Matchweek 4. He is followed closely by Jamshedpur FC goalkeeper Rehenesh TP. Mourtada Fall, despite having a blank week, is also being brought into teams due to considerations of potential price rises. Additionally, Asheer Akhtar and Noah Sadaoui are also on the list of the most transferred-in players.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant trio Hugo Boumous, Anwar Ali, and Dimitri Petratos are seeing a high number of transfers out from fantasy teams. Similarly, the Mumbai City FC duo of Jorge Pereyra Diaz and Akash Mishra is also being dropped by managers. This doesn't come as a surprise as both of these teams have a blank week, and managers are likely keen to reallocate their budget to other positions.

Top Picks for MW4:
Noah Sadaoui (FC Goa): The FC Goa midfielder showcased his quality in the match against Odisha FC by scoring a brace, and his influential performance continued throughout the game. He will undoubtedly pose the greatest threat to East Bengal FC, who are also eager to bounce back to winning ways following a challenging loss to Bengal FC in Matchweek 3.
Dimitrios Diamantakos (Kerala Blasters FC): Having recovered from injury, the Greek forward played his first full 90-minute game against Mumbai City FC. Diamantakos, who scored ten goals in the ISL 2022-23 season, is eager to kick off the new season by finding the back of the net and securing his first goal of the season against NorthEast United FC.
Differential Options for MW 4:
Alen Stevanovic (Jamshedpur FC): Owned by just 2% of ISL managers, Stevanovic might be the hidden gem of the week. Despite not appearing on the scorer or assist list, the forward has consistently showcased his brilliance in the opening three matches. He is undoubtedly hungry for goals as his team hosts Punjab FC.
Carlos Martinez (FC Goa): The FC Goa forward found the net in their first ISL match and is determined to replicate that success next week, especially after missing out on scoring against Odisha FC. While East Bengal FC has demonstrated strength in defence, the Gaurs' attack has significantly improved since their opening game. Martinez, owned by only 3% of managers, could serve as a valuable and unique differential option.
Captaincy Pick for MW4: Adrian Luna (Kerala Blasters FC)
The Blasters are particularly formidable when playing on their home turf, largely thanks to the enthusiastic support of their fans. The team is determined to bounce back after their defeat to Mumbai City FC in MW3. Therefore, Luna is an excellent choice for the captain's armband in MW4.
