The games are coming thick and fast after the Indian Super League (ISL) resumed last week and the action is set to get intense in weeks to come which means there is no respite for ISL Fantasy managers.

On the flip side, the back-to-back matchweeks present an opportunity for the ISL Fantasy managers to climb the table.

Matchweek 14 is another tricky one for managers to negotiate with three teams – Kerala Blasters FC, Mumbai City FC and Punjab FC – not seeing action.

But to make it up, Hyderabad FC, Odisha FC and Bengaluru FC are set to play twice in MW14 providing ISL Fantasy managers a chance to rack up the points.

Matchweek 13 summary

There were big wins for FC Goa, Odisha FC and Punjab FC in MW14 and it’s no surprise to see players from these teams doing well on the ISL Fantasy front. Two FC Goa players – Carlos Martinez (10 pts) and Jay Gupta (9 pts) made the top five points scorers in MW13 along with Odisha FC’s Roy Krishna (10 pts), Punjab FC’s Madih Talal (10 pts) and Jamshedpur FC’s Imran Khan (7 pts)

Matchweek 14: What to expect?

With three teams out of action, ISL Fantasy managers will have a decision on their hands whether to hold onto the players from these teams or replace them with those who will see action.

Sachin Suresh, Pritam Kotal and Dimitri Diamantakos (Kerala Blasters FC), Apuia and Tiri (Mumbai City FC) are the ones with high ownership who will not be involved in MW14 and it depends on the composition and dynamics of the existing teams which will dictate what to do with these players.

There is a case to hold onto players from these two teams with both KBFC and MCFC doubling in MW15.

Similarly, Odisha FC who double in MW14, blank in MW15, so caution could be advised against going all out for Odisha FC players in MW14 even if they have a double gameweek.

Top Picks for Matchweek 14

Roy Krishna (Odisha FC): Krishna should be the first name of your teamsheet for MW14. The Fijian forward looks like his old self at Odisha FC and is the league’s top scorer. He scored twice in the last game against Kerala Blasters FC and will fancy his chances against Hyderabad FC and even against a strong FC Goa side at home.

Sunil Chhetri (Bengaluru FC): The skipper is the top scorer for Bengaluru FC this season with four goals and with the Blues playing twice, Chhetri becomes a very important asset. Facing Chennaiyin FC and Jamshedpur FC, teams against which he has scored a total of 13 goals in ISL so far, Chhetri is a solid bet for MW14.

Dimitri Petratos (Mohun Bagan SG): The Mariners may just be playing once in MW14, but they are at home to Hyderabad FC and the hard-fought draw against East Bengal FC in the Kolkata derby should give them confidence after three straight losses. Petratos is the key figure for the Kolkata giants and expect him to be among the points again when Hyderabad FC come to town.

Top differential picks for MW14:

Armando Sadiku (Mohun Bagan SG): The Albanian scored the equaliser for the Mariners against East Bengal FC taking his tally for the season to four goals. Owned by just 2% of ISL Fantasy managers, the Albanian can be a game-changer for your team in MW14.

Isak Vanlalruatfela (Odisha FC): The winger has been highly impressive for Odisha FC this season and with two goals and as many assists to his name already he could be a really handy buy for MW14 with Odisha FC playing twice. With an ownership of just 8%, he can have a big impact on your team.

Captaincy Choice: Roy Krishna (Odisha FC)

With Odisha FC playing twice and Krishna in red-hot form, it’s a very easy to recommend him for the armband this week. He is a big match player and will be one to watch out for against FC Goa and could also cause a lot of damage against Hyderabad FC.
