Matchweek 26 of the Indian Super League (ISL) marks the final Matchweek of the season, bringing an exciting yet unpredictable challenge for ISL Fantasy managers. With one playoff position up for grabs and the fight for some teams to finish third and fourth, which would allow them to play the one-legged playoff tie at home, still at stake, some teams will be fighting hard for the best finish possible.

Odisha FC have already completed their league matches and will not feature this Matchweek, making players like Hugo Boumous and Mourtada Fall from their squad unavailable. Meanwhile, teams like FC Goa and Mohun Bagan Super Giant have already secured their places in the semi-finals, meaning they may rotate their squads. However, teams like Jamshedpur FC, NorthEast United FC, Mumbai City FC and Bengaluru FC still have reasons to push for strong performances.

With that in mind, here is our best Fantasy XI for Matchweek 26, taking into account form, fixtures, and potential rotations.

Goalkeepers

Mirshad Michu (NorthEast United FC) – 4.5 CR

NorthEast United FC will face East Bengal FC in this Matchweek, and with East Bengal FC likely to rotate their squad due to their AFC Challenge League commitments, Michu could be in for a relatively easier outing. Michu hasn't featured in any matches this season, but NorthEast United FC head coach Juan Pedro Benali confirmed he will be their captain for the upcoming game.

Playing their final game in Guwahati, NorthEast United FC are facing an opponent that may rest some of their key attackers. Michu boasts excellent shot-stopping ability, and his chances of keeping a clean sheet are strong, making him a reliable choice for your Fantasy squad.

Defenders

Nikhil Prabhu (Punjab FC) – 5.1 CR

Prabhu has racked up the most points for Punjab FC this season and is set to face Mohammedan Sporting Club, the league’s worst-performing team in terms of goals conceded. Punjab FC have a golden opportunity to secure another win on the trot, and their defensive line could capitalise on Mohammedan SC’s struggles in attack. Prabhu, known for his strong tackles and interceptions, has the potential to deliver a clean sheet.

Stephen Eze (Jamshedpur FC) – 4.1 CR

The experienced center-back will be up against Chennaiyin FC in what promises to be a crucial game for Jamshedpur FC. Eze is a dominant figure in both penalty boxes and was on the scoresheet in Jamshedpur FC’s last game. Given Chennaiyin FC’s defensive vulnerabilities, he could pose a significant threat from corners and free-kicks while also helping his side stay solid at the back.

Alberto Rodriguez (Mohun Bagan Super Giant) – 5.5 CR

Rodriguez has been a consistent presence at the back for Mohun Bagan Super Giant and is the second-highest points scorer overall. As they take on an FC Goa squad, who will likely field a second-string side, he will be central to their defensive efforts. His ball-playing ability and composure at the back make him an excellent option for managers looking for a secure defensive pick.

Midfielders

Dimitrios Petratos (Mohun Bagan Super Giant) – 12.3 CR

Petratos has been an essential player for Mohun Bagan SG in recent Matchweeks, providing goals consistently. With Mohun Bagan Super Giant facing FC Goa, who may field a second-string side due to their confirmed semi-final spot, Petratos has an excellent opportunity to exploit a potentially weakened defense. His attacking versatility and set-piece expertise make him a must-have in fantasy squads.

Javi Hernandez (Jamshedpur FC) – 9.4 CR

Hernandez continues to be the creative heartbeat of Jamshedpur FC, dictating play and driving forward. He ranks third in the list of midfielders with the most points this season and was unlucky not to record any attacking contributions in their previous game vs Odisha FC. Chennaiyin FC has been inconsistent defensively this season and Hernandez’s involvement in attacking moves and dead-ball situations makes him one of the best midfield picks this Matchweek.

Ramlunchhunga (Hyderabad FC) – 5.1 CR

Ramlunchhunga has been one of Hyderabad FC’s most promising midfielders, offering energy and attacking threat down the wings. With Hyderabad FC facing Kerala Blasters FC, who have shipped a whopping 36 goals this season, he has the potential to be involved in goals again, having found the net in their last game against Punjab FC.

Alberto Noguera (Bengaluru FC) - 8.2 CR

Noguera has been a consistent performer for Bengaluru FC, linking up play and providing key passes. The Spaniard has chipped in with important goals in recent times and is the second midfielder with the most points this season behind Hugo Boumous. He has a chance to surpass the former’s tally when he faces Mumbai City FC.

He will be instrumental in controlling possession and dictating the tempo and with Bengaluru FC looking to finish their campaign strongly, Noguera could play a key role in breaking down the opposition defense.

Forwards

Alaaeddine Ajaraie (NorthEast United FC) – 8.7 CR (Captain)

Ajaraie is the top-scoring forward in ISL Fantasy this season and remains an automatic pick. Facing an East Bengal FC side that might rotate players, Ajaraie’s incredible goal-scoring form could see him add to his tally. He was the top scoring player in Matchweek 25, registering 13 points thanks to a goal and two assists. His ability to get into dangerous positions and convert despite the smallest of chances makes him a prime captaincy choice.

Jason Cummings (Mohun Bagan Super Giant) – 8.9 CR (Vice Captain)

Cummings has been a pivotal attacking force for Mohun Bagan Super Giant despite limited play this season and will return to the squad after serving a suspension. With FC Goa likely to rest key players, Cummings will be looking to exploit their second-string defense. His ability to hold up play, score, and provide assists makes him an essential pick for this Matchweek.

Luka Majcen (Punjab FC) – 8.6 CR

Majcen has been Punjab FC’s main goal threat and will be eager to capitalise against Mohammedan SC’s leaky defense. The Slovenian was on the scoresheet against Hyderabad FC, netting his ninth goal of the season. With Mohammedan SC conceding the most goals this season, Majcen has a great chance of adding to his goal tally.

Substitutes

Nora Fernandes (Kerala Blasters FC) – 4.5 CR

The Kerala Blasters FC goalkeeper produced an outstanding display in their 1-0 win over Mumbai City FC and seems to be in the pecking order ahead of Sachin Suresh. With Kerala Blasters FC looking to finish their campaign on a strong note, Fernandes could be in line for another solid defensive performance.

Nathan Rodrigues (Mumbai City FC) - 4.1 CR

Rodrigues has been a rising star in the Mumbai City FC defense, showcasing both defensive solidity and attacking contributions. He has three goals to his name this season, proving his ability to make an impact in the attacking half.

Mumbai City FC will face Bengaluru FC, which is a tough fixture on paper, but they are fighting for a playoff spot and will look to put their best foot forward. For those looking for a cheap route into the Islanders defence, Rodrigues is a fine choice.

Naorem Roshan Singh (Bengaluru FC) – 4.7 CR

Bengaluru FC's attacking full-back has been one of their best performers this season. With Mumbai City FC up next, Singh will have a tough task, but his ability to provide assists and create chances from wide areas makes him an asset.

The Blues have been defensively compact in recent Matchweeks, and if they manage to hold their shape, Singh could deliver points at both ends of the pitch.

Muhammad Suhail (Punjab FC) – 4.5 CR

Playing as a forward, Suhail is an excellent out-of-position player who could shine against Mohammedan SC. He racked up nine points in Punjab FC’s match against Hyderabad FC, thanks to his two assists and seemed to be getting into great positions and linking up with his teammates. For those looking for an attacking budget midfielder with a good match on paper, Suhail is a shrewd pick.
