Matchweek 16 of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season is upon us, and fantasy managers will be gearing up for another exciting round of action.

This Matchweek presents unique challenges, particularly with Kerala Blasters FC having a blank, leaving popular picks like Noah Sadaoui, Adrian Luna and others out of action.

As we navigate these changes, it’s crucial to make the most of the available options to maximise points and climb up the leaderboard.

With that, here is a list of key and in-from players to consider for your Fantasy squad.

Goalkeepers

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (Bengaluru FC) - 5.8 CR

Sandhu is the second-highest scoring goalkeeper in the game this season. Despite Bengaluru FC's recent lack of clean sheets, Sandhu's crucial saves have been pivotal in their recent victories.

He has a strong chance of securing a clean sheet this week against a Mohammedan Sporting Club side that has scored the least goals this season and has failed to find the net in their last five matches.

Defenders

Subhasish Bose (Mohun Bagan SG) - 5.0 CR

Bose is the top-scoring defender in ISL Fantasy and one of the three players to surpass 100 points this season. Known for his consistent defensive performances, the Mohun Bagan SG captain delivered a double-digit haul in the last match against Hyderabad FC and will aim to replicate that success against a wounded East Bengal FC side.

Alberto Rodriguez (Mohun Bagan SG) - 5.5 CR

Rodriguez, the only defender besides Bose to cross 100 points, offers an attacking threat and clean sheet potential, making him a top pick. Although he didn't score in the last match, he still achieved double digits. The Spaniard is the most transferred-in defender this week.

Sandesh Jhingan (FC Goa) - 5.5 CR

FC Goa host Hyderabad FC, and captain Jhingan will play a crucial role in ensuring his team not only secures another win but also keeps a clean sheet.

FC Goa are on a seven-match unbeaten streak and will look to continue this run against Hyderabad FC, who have scored the second-fewest goals this season. FC Goa defeated Hyderabad FC 2-0 last time and will be keen to do the double.

Roshan Singh (Bengaluru FC) - 4.8 CR

Facing a goal-shy Mohammedan SC side, Singh has a strong chance of keeping a clean sheet, with his attacking threat as an added bonus. He was involved in Alberto Noguera’s goal against Jamshedpur FC and supplied dangerous balls from the left flank. He is the second-highest scoring player for Bengaluru FC after Rahul Bheke.

Midfielders

Brison Fernandes (FC Goa) - 4.6 CR (Vice-Captain)

Fernandes, the only Indian player to score back-to-back braces in ISL history, is in exceptional form. From an emerging talent, he has proven himself as a reliable goal scorer who doesn’t need many chances. He will fancy his chances against a defensively vulnerable Hyderabad FC. Fernandes is also the most transferred-in player this Matchweek.

Liston Colaco (Mohun Bagan SG) - 7.6 CR

Colaco has only scored twice this season, but his threat down the flanks has been evident. He contributed to the build-up play for two of Mohun Bagan SG’s goals against Hyderabad FC. Facing an injury-hit East Bengal FC side struggling defensively in recent matches, Colaco will look to add to his goal tally.

Lallianzuala Chhangte (Mumbai City FC) - 10.4 CR

Chhangte excelled in a new role for Mumbai City FC against East Bengal FC, providing a threat down the middle and driving at defenders. He seems revitalized after a position change. Despite a tough fixture on paper, the Mumbai City FC captain has shown in the past that he can score against any team.

Forwards

Alaaeddine Ajaraie (NorthEast United FC) - 8.4 CR

Ajaraie, the highest-scoring player in ISL Fantasy this season, was unlucky not to score against Mohammedan SC in NorthEast United FC's previous game. Facing a struggling Punjab FC side, who have lost four games in a row, Ajaraie will look to capitalise on his team's strong home record and get back among the goals again.

Iker Guarrotxena (FC Goa) - 9.4 CR

Guarrotxena has started three of FC Goa’s last four games, leading the line in recent matches. He has contributed a goal and an assist during this period. With Armando Sadiku’s minutes being managed, Guarrotxena is likely to start again. He scored the last time FC Goa faced Hyderabad FC and will aim to do so again.

Sunil Chhetri (Bengaluru FC) - 7.5 CR (Captain)

Chhetri is the most transferred-in forward this Matchweek. He was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet against Jamshedpur FC, missing some clear chances, including hitting the post. He scored the last time Mohammedan SC faced Bengaluru FC and will be eager to return to the scoresheet, having already scored nine goals this season.

Substitutes

TP Rehenesh (Mumbai City FC) - 4.7 CR

Rehenesh has started in Mumbai City FC’s recent games and is a budget-friendly option in their defense, which has kept numerous clean sheets. He faces Jamshedpur FC, his former team, which has scored the fewest goals this season, and will be expected to make some crucial saves.

Asheer Akhtar (NorthEast United FC) - 4.5 CR

NorthEast United FC has achieved back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season, with Akhtar playing a significant role. Facing a struggling Punjab FC side, he will be looking to secure another clean sheet.

Lukas Brambilla (Chennaiyin FC) - 7.8 CR

Brambilla is Chennaiyin FC’s joint-highest scorer this season, alongside Wilmar Gil. He was the standout player in their home defeat to Bengaluru FC. With another home match against an Odisha FC side that conceded four goals in their last game, Chennaiyin FC will rely on Brambilla for creativity and goal-scoring opportunities.

Macarton Nickson (NorthEast United FC) - 4.5 CR

Nickson is one of the few regular starters in his price range, making him an attractive option. He has excelled in a box-to-box role, winning interceptions and contributing to clean sheets, helping him accumulate extra points.
