Hero Indian Super League (ISL) commentator Shaiju Damodaran picks his team of Matchweek 16 of the Hero ISL 2022-23.

Damodaran opted a mix of players from six different clubs in his playing XI, with four foreign players, three in midfield and one in attack.

The Hero ISL league leaders, Mumbai City FC have the highest representation in the team 16 with three players followed by Hyderabad FC and Bengaluru FC who have two players each.

Here goes Shaiju Damodaran's Team of the Week:

Goalkeeper:

Vishal Kaith (ATK Mohun Bagan)

Standing under the bar is the tall and strong Vishal Kaith of ATK Mohun Bagan, who pulled up some stunning saves and kept a clean sheet against a resilient Chennaiyin FC attack.

Defenders:

Sandesh Jhingan (Bengaluru FC)

Leading the defense line is Bengaluru FC's great wall Sandesh Jhingan, who won the Hero of the match with his performance at the back.

Nim Dorjee (Hyderabad FC)

Young Nim Dorjee, in my opinion, is having a breakthrough season with Hyderabad FC in the Hero ISL this season.

Nikhil Poojary (Hyderabad FC)

In the right wing-back, I have Nikhil Poojary of Hyderabad FC, who is another player who gets better with every match in the season.

Subhasish Bose (ATK Mohun Bagan)

In the left wing-back position, I have the experienced and versatile Subhasish Bose of ATK Mohun Bagan, who had a great game (in the last week) and kept another clean seat under his belt.

Midfielders:

Ahmed Jahouh (Mumbai City FC)

Coming into the midfield, I have Ahmed Jahouh, a strong and an intelligent defensive midfielder.

Vinit Rai (Mumbai City FC)

Another player in midfield is Vinit Rai, a goalscoring defensive midfielder, who combines well with Ahmed Jahouh.

Javi Hernandez (Bengaluru FC)

I have Javi Hernandez (in my team) who is aging like a fine wine, who had two assists in the last week against Odisha FC.

Julius Duker (Chennaiyin FC)

I chose Chennaiyin FC's hero Julius Duker as the attacking midfielder, whose presence in the middle was a real headache for the opponents.

Brandon Fernandes (FC Goa)

In the left flank, I went with FC Goa captain Brandon Fernandes, who once again found his rhythm in the Hero ISL.

Forward:

Jorge Pereyra Diaz (Mumbai City FC)

My lone striker for the team of the Matchweek 16, is a Fox in the box, Jorge Pereyra Diaz of Mumbai City FC. He is currently leading the Hero ISL Golden Boot race with nine goals, and had yet another good game with a goal and an assist to his name.

Head coach: Des Buckingham (Mumbai City FC)

For coaching the side, I have undoubtedly chosen one of the most dominant managers, I have seen, in the recent past in the Hero ISL, none other than Des Buckingham of Mumbai City FC.
