Another exhilarating gameweek of football in Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2020-21 ended on Saturday with the FC Goa-Odisha FC match. This gameweek Mumbai City FC won their fourth straight game while Bengaluru FC, Hyderabad FC and NorthEast United FC continued their unbeaten start to the season. A great many individual performances also came to the fore and let’s see who all made it to the Team of the Week after five games in Gameweek 5.

TP Rehenesh

Jamshedpur FC goalkeeper TP Rehenesh kept his first clean sheet in Hero ISL 2020-21 during his side’s goalless draw against SC East Bengal. Rehenesh saved the only shot that he faced and had a strong passing accuracy of 80% besides also making two clearances.

Mourtada Fall

Mumbai City’s Mourtada Fall makes it to the team of the week for a third successive Hero ISL gameweek after a solid display against Chennaiyin FC. The defender had a passing accuracy of 80% and made 11 clearances and two blocks. He also made one successful interception for the Islanders.

James Donachie

The FC Goa defender played a vital role in the Gaurs’ win against Odisha. His passing play was just brilliant as he completed 58 passes out of his total 62. He had 77 touches of the ball and also came up with five clearances and two successful tackles. His presence checked the Odisha attackers a great deal.

Juanan

Spanish defender Juanan continued his strong start to Hero ISL 2020-21 in Bengaluru’s 2-2 draw with NorthEast United FC. Juanan scored for the Blues with his only shot on target while defensively he made two clearances, two blocks and two successful interceptions.

Asish Rai

Young Asish Rai helped Hyderabad maintain their unbeaten run in Hero ISL 2020-21 with a 1-1 draw against formidable ATK Mohun Bagan. Asish had four successful tackles and three successful interceptions to his name as well as four clearances.

Joao Victor

Joao Victor scored the 50th goal of Hero ISL 2020-21 during his side 1-1 draw against ATK Mohun Bagan. Falling behind early in the second half, Victor scored the equalising goal from the spot for Hyderabad. In addition to this, the Brazilian had a passing accuracy of 88% and created one chance.

Hugo Boumous

Mumbai City won their fourth straight Hero ISL match and at the centre of their victory was Hugo Boumous. The midfielder ran the show from the middle of the park for the Islanders with a passing accuracy of 85%. Boumous assisted both goals besides also creating five other goal-scoring opportunities.

Ashique Kuruniyan

Bengaluru’s Ashique Kuruniyan was a constant threat against NorthEast United. Kuruniyan created one chance for his side besides putting in four crosses. Defensively, he made two successful tackles and one successful interception.

Jorge Ortiz Mendoza

FC Goa’s Jorge Ortiz Mendoza had a great game against Odisha FC. The Hero of the Match was a threat throughout and got into dangerous positions several times. With a little bit of luck, he could have scored a goal or two. Mendoza finished the game with 87 touches of the ball and four shots on target besides creating one chance. He also worked hard in defence and made one successful tackle, one successful interception and one block.

Manvir Singh

Manvir Singh scored his second goal of the season during ATK Mohun Bagan’s 1-1 draw against Hyderabad FC. The forward created three chances for his side and defensively he had one successful tackle and three successful interceptions.

Luis Machado

Portuguese forward Luis Machado scored a brace for the Highlanders during their 2-2 draw with Bengaluru FC. Machado took four shots out of which three were on target. He also put in five crosses for his teammates.
