As Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2020-21 is coming closer to the end of the league stage, competitiveness has been on the rise among the teams. Gameweek 20 was filled with strong performances as the top-four, particularly the third and fourth places, started to become discernible to some extent. Two major contenders, FC Goa and Hyderabad FC registered comfortable 3-1 and 4-0 victories over Odisha FC and Kerala Blasters FC respectively. Chennaiyin FC and another semis contender NorthEast United played out the only drawn game of this gameweek, a thrilling 3-3 draw. Meanwhile, top-spot contenders ATK Mohun Bagan continued their fine form with a fifth straight win, this time over city rivals SC East Bengal. Then in the last game of the gameweek, Jamshedpur FC stunned second-placed Mumbai City FC 2-0. Here, we look at the team of the week from Gameweek 20.

Laxmikant Kattimani

The Indian goalkeeper saved all three shots that were on target and helped himself to a clean sheet in Hyderabad FC’s win over the Blasters. Laxmikant Kattimani also made four clearances and three punches for his team.

Asish Rai

Asish Rai was a strong defensive presence in Hyderabad FC’s big win over Kerala Blasters FC. The fullback made five clearances and three successful interceptions as well as three successful tackles for his team. He also made one block.

Ivan Gonzalez

Hero-of-the-Match against Odisha FC, Ivan Gonzalez assisted Alberto Noguera for the opening goal before scoring the Gaurs’ third goal of the match. Gonzalez created a total of three chances for his team and also had a strong passing accuracy of 86%.

Akash Mishra

Another Hyderabad defender Akash Mishra makes it to the team of the week (third successive appearance) after Hyderabad FC’s solid performance against the Blasters. Mishra made three clearances and three blocks for his team, along with his two successful interceptions.

Jorge Ortiz

Jorge Ortiz scored a brilliant goal to double FC Goa’s lead over Odisha FC. The Spanish winger also created five goal-scoring chances for his team. He had four shots in the match besides delivering four crosses for his team.

Joao Victor

The Brazilian midfielder scored Hyderabad FC’s fourth goal in their win over Kerala Blasters. Joao Victor managed to get both his shots on target and also had a strong passing accuracy of 77%. He completed four interceptions and made two blocks for his team.

Alberto Noguera

Noguera opened the scoring for FC Goa in their comfortable win over Odisha FC. The Spanish midfielder scored from a close-range header and also had a strong passing accuracy of 74% for his team besides having two of his three shots on target.

Lallianzuala Chhangte

The Indian winger scored twice in Chennaiyin’s 3-3 draw against NorthEast United. Lallianzuala Chhangte also won the penalty which was converted by Manuel Lanzarote and scored with both of his shots on target.

Roy Krishna

Roy Krishna was the best player on the pitch in ATK Mohun Bagan’s win over their Kolkata rivals SC East Bengal. The Fijian scored the opening goal, and went on to assist their second and third goals of the game as well.

Aridane Santana

The Spanish striker scored Hyderabad FC’s third goal in their win over Kerala Blasters. Aridane Santana also created three chances for his team. He helped out his defence with two blocks and a clearance as well.

Luis Machado

The Portuguese winger scored NorthEast United’s third goal in second half stoppage time against Chennaiyin. Luis Machado was also responsible for NorthEast United’s opening goal as it was his deflected cross that was headed into the net by Imran Khan. It was second successive appearance for Machado.
