The Indian Super League (ISL) started in 2014 and it has had a fair share of incredible moments since its inception. Each and every club has played its part in making the league seasons more exciting and entertaining.

Many top foreign players have graced the league in recent times and made a mark for their teams. There have also been legends like Alessandro Del Piero, Juan Capdevila coming and playing in the league. They have helped shape up many young players of India with their experience and have contributed immensely to the development of the league and the development of Indian Football as a whole.

The first-ever goal for any team in the ISL is always special, so, keeping that in mind, let us have a look at the first-ever goalscorers of each ISL club.

Andre Moritz (Mumbai City FC)

The Brazilian attacking midfielder scored the first-ever goal for Mumbai City FC in the match against the erstwhile FC Pune City team. He ended the match with a hattrick and also became the first-ever player to score a hattrick in the league.

Aridane Santana (Odisha FC)

The Spanish forward became the first player to score a goal for the Odisha FC team in a 2-1 loss against Jamshedpur FC.

Koke (NorthEast United FC)

The Spanish midfielder became the first-ever player to score for NorthEast United FC in a match against Kerala Blasters FC. The Highlanders won the match with a 1-0 scoreline. He scored four goals for the team that season.

Balwant Singh (Chennaiyin FC)

The Indian forward became the first player to score for Chennaiyin FC when he opened the scoring in a match against  FC Goa. He also became the first Indian player to score in the league with his goal.

Gregory Arnolin (FC Goa)

The French defender scored the first-ever goal for FC Goa in a match against Chennaiyin FC. He had a brief but important spell at FC Goa that season.

Ian Hume (Kerala Blasters FC)

The Canadian Forward scored the first-ever goal for Kerala Blasters FC in the ISL in the match against Chennaiyin FC. His goal was not enough however, as his team lost the game by a 2-1 scoreline. He scored five goals for the club that season.

Roy Krishna (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)

The Fijian forward scored the first-ever goal for Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the ISL. He scored in the game against Kerala Blasters to help his side win the game.

Edu Garcia (Bengaluru FC)

Spanish midfielder Edu Garcia scored the first ever goal for Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League in a match against Mumbai City FC. He scored a total of two goals that season and put in solid performances throughout the season. Bengaluru FC managed to reach the final that season and narrowly lost to Chennaiyin FC by a 3-2 scoreline.

Izu Azuka (Jamshedpur FC)

Nigerian forward Izu Azuka scored the first ever goal in the Indian Super League for Jamshedpur FC in a match against the erstwhile Delhi Dynamos FC team. His goal was the winning goal in that game. He scored a total of three goals that season as Jamshedpur FC finished the season in fifth position and narrowly missed out on the playoff spot.

Jacques Maghoma (East Bengal FC)

The former Congolese footballer scored the first-ever goal for East Bengal FC in the ISL. He scored twice against Hyderabad FC, however it was not enough as his side could not win the game. He scored a total of  three goals for East Bengal FC that season.

Luka Majcen (Punjab FC)

The Slovenian forward scored the first-ever goal in the ISL for Punjab FC. He scored against Mohun Bagan Super Giant in a match which his team eventually lost by a 3-1 scoreline.

Marcelinho Leite (Hyderabad FC)

The Brazilian footballer scored the first-ever goal for Hyderabad FC in the ISL. He scored against Jamshedpur FC in a match which his team eventually lost by a 3-1 scoreline. He put a good performance in the league for the team and scored seven goals in 17 games.
