Kerala Blasters FC have added more firepower to their midfield by signing onboard Nikola Krcmarevic for the 2018-19 season of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL). He becomes the third Serbian after Nemanja Lakic-Pesic and Slavisa Stojanovic to be a part of the Blasters squad this season.

The 26-year-old started his professional career at the Belgrade-based FK Čukarički, before making moves to fellow Serbian clubs. He shifted base to Greece in the 2014-15 season as a part of the Zakynthos squad, while later switching to Sweden in 2017 to ply his trade for Syrianska FC.

Krcmarevic joins from 07 Vestur, a Faroese football club, where he made 14 appearances in the three months he spent there. Blasters will be his first professional stint outside Europe, an uncharted territory for the midfielder, who already has 202 appearances under his belt over the years.

His experience will be of great value to David James’ squad, which already boasts of foreign talents like Courage Pekuson, Matej Poplatnik, Cyril Kali and Keziron Kizito, apart from the three Serbians. Krcmarevic is also Kerala’s last foreign recruit for the upcoming season, as they have completed their quota of seven.
