Midfielder Brandon Fernandes put pen to paper on a contract extension with FC Goa, which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2021-22 season. The 24-year-old has already spent two seasons with the Gaurs, establishing himself as a mainstay in head coach Sergio Lobera's unit.

Having joined Goa towards the beginning of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2017-18 season, Brandon impressed for the Gaurs in his debut season in the famed orange jersey, raking up 4 assists in 15 appearances as Goa reached the semi-finals. The 2018-19 campaign saw him improve even further, maintaining his assists tally from the previous season and further supplementing it with three goals.

Considered as one of the most technically gifted young players in the country, the Gaurs' no. 10 played 18 matches in Hero ISL 2018-19 during Goa's run to the final. He then followed it up with a stellar Hero Super Cup 2019 campaign and picked up a winners' medal with the Orange brigade.

With Goa aggressively building for the next season, expect Brandon to play a starring role yet again as Goa aim to finally end their long wait for the Hero ISL trophy.
