Joni Kauko joined ATK Mohun Bagan shortly after Finland exited Euro 2020. The central midfielder played for Inter Turku and Lahti in the early part of his career in Finland before moving to German club FSV Frankfurt. After continuing his stint in Germany with Energie Cottbus, the central midfielder moved to Denmark and played first played for Randers FC and then Esbjerg. Kauko’s signing in June 2021 was undoubtedly one of the biggest acquisitions in the history of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL).
