India take on the People’s Republic of China in what promises to be a truly enthralling encounter at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium in Suzhou City today. The match will witness these two Asian superpowers locking horns after 21 years and will take place for the first time on Chinese soil. Naturally, much furore was created prior to the historic match as fans, celebrities and Hero Indian Super League (ISL) clubs took to social media to wish the Blue Tigers.

FC Goa, Mumbai City FC, FC Pune City, NorthEast United FC and Kerala Blasters FC all came forth to back the national heroes ahead of the big kick-off.

The President of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Praful Patel, who has been one of the biggest fans for the past few years, seemed evidently eager to watch the men in action.

Head coach of Kerala Blasters, David James, wished the players from Kerala who are part of the squad and also pointed out the rise of football in Asia.

Football always takes precedence over any other sport in Kerala with thousands of fans flocking the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi to support their club. This time, however, a few fans went a step further by travelling all the way to China to support their nation.
