Two-time Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) champions Chennaiyin FC announced the addition of winger Fatkhullo Fatkhulloev ahead of the 2020-21 season. Speaking to the official Chennaiyin FC website, the winger expressed his happiness having signed for the Marina Machans while insisting that he is ‘ready to conquer the Hero ISL’.

“When I heard of Chennaiyin’s interest in signing me, I became very happy. I have heard a lot about Chennaiyin, and I am well aware they are one of the biggest clubs in India that has a large fanbase. I have also had the opportunity to watch CFC play an attractive brand of football over the last few seasons, with many top players in their ranks,” he said.

“For my part, I will try to do my best to make our team a champion. Anything can happen, you just need to believe in the best and try for the sake of your team. I am ready to conquer the Indian Super League,” Fatkhullo added.

A seasoned international for Tajikistan, Fatkhullo has played 68 times for his country, scoring nine goals including twice against the Blue Tigers. While discussing his experiences of playing in India, the winger spoke highly about football in the country as well as the national team players, many of whom have kept in touch with him.

“I have come to India many times, with the national team of Tajikistan and also with my previous club. During those matches, I noticed that football in India is developing greatly, and the players are extremely professional. I have also made friends with many Indian footballers. I still keep in touch with many of them,” he said.

The wideman went on to reveal that he was left impressed with Chennaiyin head coach Csaba Laszlo’s tactical approach having had detailed discussions with him prior to signing for the club. “Our head coach and I have had a very good conversation. We talked about the future plans and goals of the team. He has clearly explained his requirements and objectives, and how he wants to see me fulfil them. I really do like the tactics he has in mind,” Fatkhullo said.

While sharing a message for Chennaiyin fans, Fatkhullo asserted, “I am sure that nine million more fans will join the Chennaiyin family, because the whole of Tajikistan will now be watching. I am all in for Chennaiyin.”
