Kerala Blasters FC have completed the signing of Cameroonian centre forward Raphael Eric Messi Bouli for the upcoming 2019-20 season of Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL). He has penned a one-year contract with the Kochi-based side.

The 27-year-old left-footed striker began his career at his home country with FAP Yaounde back in 2013 before going on to play for Canon Yaoundé and Apejes FC in the next few seasons. 2018 saw the Cameroonian leave his country for the first time as he joined Chinese club Yanbian Funde. He played 14 times in the China League One in the 2018 season for the club, hitting the back of the net thrice.

Last season, Bouli was in the books of Iranian side Foolad and played in the Persian Gulf Pro League. The tall striker is known for his strength and can operate both as the point man upfront and as a support striker, linking up play.

The Cameroon international, who has reportedly played six matches for the Les Lions, will likely partner Bartholomew Ogbeche at the tip of Kerala's attack.

Kerala have completely overhauled their foreign contingent this season, bringing in Ogbeche, Sergio Cidoncha, Gianni Zuiverloon, Jairo Rodrigues, Mario Arques, Mouhamadou Moustapha Gning and Bouli. Helmed by head coach Eelco Schattorie, the Blasters are looking like a solid unit on paper and will be hopeful of challenging for the Hero ISL 2019-20 title.

“I am thrilled to join a club that has a strong vision for the future and the most passionate fan-base in India. I can’t wait for the season to start,” the player said after formalizing the deal.
