Kerala Blasters FC, on Sunday, announced Guillermo Sanchez as the club’s new assistant coach. With over 13 years of coaching experience, in multiple countries across the world, including a stint in India, Guillermo joins the Kochi-based club from Orlando City SC. He will be helping out head coach Eelco Schattorie for the remainder of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 season.

Having procured his A License from the United States Soccer Federation, he is also a Master of Science in Sports Psychology from the Capella University, USA.

“I am honoured to join the Kerala Blasters family. The passion for football in Kochi is amazing and I am super excited to represent it along with each member of this team in order to reach our common goals. I still remember my first game here of the Hero ISL in Kochi and the atmosphere was unique and stunning. Hope to see more of it the coming future,” said Guillermo.

“Our new assistant coach adds value to our supporting staff. He has a strong knowledge of the sport and also brings other qualities to the table like having a psychological degree that helps in supporting the players. To top it all, he has worked in India and has a good understanding of the league. I’m very happy to have him on board,” said Schattorie.
