Jamshedpur FC have confirmed the signing of experienced defender Keegan Pereira from NorthEast United FC for the 2019-20 season of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL). The left back joins Jamshedpur on a one-year deal.

Keegan joins the club after an impressive 2018-19 campaign, in which he contributed heavily to the Highlanders’ best-ever finish in the club's history. The Mumbai-based defender made a total of 15 appearances for Eelco Schattorie’s side, raking up 55 clearances, 15 blocks and 16 interceptions.

Besides bringing in ample experience to the backline, the 31-year-old former India international is also adept at helping out the attack whenever required. His ability to bomb down the flanks and deliver accurate crosses inside the box will be a huge boon for the Miners.

Prior to his stint with NorthEast, Keegan represented Mumbai City FC as well as ATK, where he was a pivotal figure during their 2016 league triumph.

Speaking to Jamshedpur’s media team about his move, Keegan said, "I am looking forward to my new home Jamshedpur FC. I enjoyed playing in front of such a massive crowd at JRD Tata Sports Complex last season and I hope this upcoming season, they will continue to support the team and me so that together we can win silverware for the club. The facilities in Jamshedpur are excellent and I am really looking forward to visiting the city soon. Personally, have been following Jamshedpur FC since their inception and their progress over the last two seasons have been heartening.”
