It was a game of two halves at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, as ATK FC scored two late goals to cancel out Bengaluru FC's two first half strikes in their final Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 league phase match. Dimas Delgado and Kevaughn Frater scored for the Blues while second half substitutes Edu Garcia and Michael Soosairaj found ATK's goals in the final five minutes of the contest.

At the post-match press conference, ATK head coach Antonio Lopez Habas summed the game up and noted, “I think it was a fair result. The first half was Bengaluru’s but the second half belonged to us. It was a fair scoreline. Maybe we could have won if not for the disallowed goal.”

Speaking about his half time substitutions, which eventually changed the outcome of the contest, the Spaniard opined, “We weren’t good with the ball in the first 45 minutes, we were unsure and made mistakes. We made changes at half time and I think the substitutions helped the team out in the second period.”

Asked if there was any chance of Agustin Iniguez coming back into the squad for the semi-final stage, Habas informed, “We have to continue life without Agus. He is facing some serious family problems. We have to find a solution. We are a competitive team.”

The result also kept the third spot up for grabs, with Chennaiyin FC having the opportunity to leapfrog Bengaluru to the position should they win their match against NorthEast United FC coming Tuesday. Subsequently, it also means second-placed ATK will have to wait to find out if they will be facing Bengaluru or Chennaiyin in the semis. Admitting that it was a hindrance, Habas stated, “We now have to wait. We can’t prepare optimally for the semis because we will have to wait till the Chennaiyin match.”
