Delhi fans soaking up ISL experience

The Delhi Dynamos have been able to attract approximately an average of 15,000 spectators to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for their three home matches so far. It is amazing to see so many fans zealous to watch a game of football in India, a country that is primarily dominated by cricket. Many football fanatics who primarily watch the England’s Barclays Premier League, Spain’s La Liga, and Germany’s Bundesliga, have now started following the Hero Indian Super League and vouching for their favorite teams.
Among them are the Dynamo fans who have formed various Facebook and WhatsApp groups for the Delhi Dynamo Fan Clubs. A trend has been observed of many fans religiously coming to the stadiums to watch every home game in club colors. Many have artistically designed banners displaying phrases such as “Thok Denge”, the team slogan, “Delhi’s No.10, Del Piero”, and “Gustavo Marmentini dos Santos, #16.” When the home team scores a goal you can hear the fans chanting the club’s official anthem, waving the flag hard and the stadium goes wild in celebrations of the spectacular football they have witnessed. The Mexican wave has almost become a tradition and is executed by the crowds several times at every game.
The Dynamos are persistently working hard towards developing an exhilarating experience for the fans. They recently tied up with Uber to allow fans to reach the venue in comfort by offering free rides to those who purchase tickets worth Rs.200 or more. This “Dynamos Football Uber Style” will surely enhance fan experience. Moreover, selling tickets in traffic hubs such as Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, Vishwa Vidalaya Metro Station, and Kashmiri Gate Metro Station enhances both convenience for fans and the awareness of the ISL.
The Delhi team’s efforts to develop a football community in the Indian capital are bearing fruit, as the ISL is slowly taking root among Dynamos fans.
