SC East Bengal’s head coach Jose Manuel Diaz feels the team needs to go back to the drawing board and rectify mistakes in the training as his side suffered a 3-4 loss at the hands of FC Goa at Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco, Goa on Tuesday in their fifth match of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL).

SC East Bengal now sit at the bottom of the table as the only club to not register a win so far this season.

After a tough start to their campaign with a third loss coming against FC Goa by 3-4, Diaz addressed the media during the official post-match press conference.

Here are the excerpts from the press conference.

SC East Bengal kept a clean sheet against Chennaiyin FC but today it was the lack of communication between goalkeeper and defender which was visible, how are you looking to rectify that?

We must keep training and improve our level and not make big mistakes.

You played Amarjit Kiyam today, he is a midfielder and last time he played as a wide midfielder, today in a more attacking position, are you playing him out of position?

Amarjit is a strong player. Starting from the midfielder, he can be closer to the box of the opponent.

Was dropping Chima (Daniel Chukwu) and Darren Sidoel a good decision for today’s game?

Darren is injured and we started with four foreign players and we waited for the second half to bring Chima.

Thongkhosiem Haokip is the only Indian goal scorer for SC East Bengal this season, but we haven’t seen much of him after the Odisha game. Is there a particular reason for not playing him?

Antonio (Perosevic) and Chima are playing more minutes. Semboi (Haokip) will play in the future.
