After a couple of disappointing results, table toppers Bengaluru FC will look to get back to their familiar winning ways when they travel to the capital to take on Delhi Dynamos FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday. Delhi, on the other hand, will hope to continue their recent resurgence and add the Blues’ coveted scalp to their kitty.

Delhi Dynamos FC

After a disappointing first half of the season, the Lions are enjoying an upsurge in form of late and are currently unbeaten in their last four matches.

It will be interesting to see if Josep Gombau opts to start the match with star winger Lallianzuala Chhangte. The youngster only recently came back to India after a brief trial with Norwegian club Viking FK and Gombau might be tempted to start him from the bench. However, considering Chhangte’s importance to the way the team plays and the pedigree of the opposition, he will surely have a part to play. Delhi fans will also be hoping for stellar performances from Nandhakumar Sekar and new signing Ulises Davila on Sunday’s match. Captain Marcos Tebar will be tasked with dictating the play from the midfield and will need to be at his very best on Sunday when he goes up against the likes of Dimas Delgado and Xisco Hernandez. Delhi will reportedly be missing midfielder Bikramjit Singh owing to an injury.

Having let in just two goals in the last four matches, the Dynamos have been solid at the back of late and Gianni Zuiverloon, in particular, has been very impressive for them. The Dutchman will have his work cut out for him on Sunday to keep the likes of Sunil Chhetri and Miku at bay.

Bengaluru FC

Table toppers Bengaluru are uncharacteristically winless in two matches, having drawn and lost against Kerala Blasters FC and Chennaiyin FC respectively. Carles Cuadrat will be eager to get back to winning ways against Delhi and try to regain some momentum heading into the play-offs.

Cuadrat's decision to rotate the squad substantially in the last two matches has been cited by many as one possible reason behind Bengaluru’s slight stumble. In the post-match presser after the Chennaiyin match, the Bengaluru head coach confirmed that the move was meant to keep the squad as fresh and injury free as possible heading into the play-offs and we could very well see the trend continue against Delhi.

Despite the not-so-ideal results in their last two outings, there have been positives for Bengaluru as well. Captain Sunil Chhetri seems to have regained his scoring touch and has scored in two matches on a trot after a seven-match barren run. Star striker Miku has also recovered from his injury and seems to be feeling his way back into the team. The Venezuelan's return to form before the play-offs start will be crucial for Bengaluru.

Cuadrat will miss the services of midfielder Erik Paartalu for Sunday's match owing to a suspension due to the accumulation of yellow cards. The Australian has also reportedly picked up a knock and might not be available for the rest of the season.
