Mumbai City FC saw their nine-match unbeaten run come to an end in their last Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 outing against FC Goa. However, the fruitful run has placed the Islanders within touching distance of the play-off berth and a win against Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Friday will see them take a giant step forward in their quest to seal a top four finish.

Speaking about the significance of a positive result from the encounter, Mumbai head coach Jorge Costa said, "Like all the games, (it is important). But tomorrow’s game is a very difficult game against a team, that like us, are fighting to finish in the top four. There are only four games to go and they are very important for us and for Jamshedpur. We want to go back home with all three points."

With the league slowly reaching its business end, Costa was asked if the urgency for results would put any extra pressure on his team. "Both teams will be under pressure tomorrow. But this is our job. We must control it because every time (we play) we are under pressure. Where we are in the table, we should have less pressure compared to Jamshedpur," he responded.

Mumbai have failed to beat Jamshedpur in any of their three Hero ISL meetings so far. Costa, however, suggested that the head-to-head record doesn’t worry him and said, "If I’m not wrong, we had never beaten Bengaluru FC. We beat them for the first time. We never went nine games without losing before this season. We are beating some records. We respect the Jamshedpur team a lot but we are here to go back home with the three points."

Asked if the vociferous Jamshedpur home crowd will have any impact on the match, the veteran coach commented, "This is what I like in football - to have full stadiums and to have the support. If I can play all the matches with full house, it will be perfect for me, for football, for Hero ISL. This is also one of the things that I must do as a coach, to try and bring more fans to the stadium. But the good thing about football is that after this, inside the field, it is 11 vs 11."

Costa then revealed that the team is dealing with a few injury concerns but refrained from naming the absentees. "Yes, we have some problems. I believe in all my players and I believe in the starting 11 which will play tomorrow," he said.
