Mumbai City FC welcome Jamshedpur FC at the Mumbai Football Arena in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 on Thursday. The home form for the Islanders has been poor as they have lost their last two matches as hosts. However, with their recent and impressive 4-3 away victory against FC Goa, they will look to carry the momentum into this one. One of their regular players in midfield has been their anchor-man Sehnaj Singh, and prior to the encounter in Mumbai, the 24-year-old took time to address indiansuperleague.com and shared his thoughts regarding the same. Here are excerpts from the exclusive interview.

A win tomorrow will put you in the top four, while a loss will make it difficult for your team. Your thoughts on this?

Actually, we have to win match by match. First Jamshedpur, then Pune, and so on. If we look at it on the whole, even if we lose a match or two from here, it will be very difficult for us to make the playoffs. So, we must win every single match.

Jamshedpur FC used to play in a compact way but now they have started to open up and attack a lot. Do you have any special plans against the likes of Trindade Goncalves, Izu Azuka and Wellington Priori?

We will stick to our plan. We have good players, both foreign and Indian. We will play like we are used to playing. There is no special plan against them.

After beating Goa, the morale of the team must be high…

It was a very difficult game for us. So, we are happy with that result. And we want to win the next game too.

The team is on a poor run at home, having lost the previous two matches here. Is this a cause for concern?

The two losses don’t mean that we are going to lose the next match as well. We are going for the win, so let’s see what happens.
