Reigning Hero Indian Super League champions Chennaiyin FC strengthened their attack with the signing of Palestinian forward Carlos Antonio Salom for the 2018-19 season.

The former Rayo Vallecano striker joined the South Indian side from Bangkok United on a season-long loan. Born in Argentina, the Palestine international was thrilled to sign for the two-time Hero ISL champions. “I am excited to play in the Hero ISL and will give my best to help Chennaiyin FC retain the title and go as far as possible in the AFC Cup”, he said.

Head Coach John Gregory was also delighted by the addition of the experienced forward. Speaking of Salom, he said, “Carlos will enhance the quality, experience and variety in our forward department. He is a forward who can score and also create goals. We have full faith in him to have a great first season in India."

Salom becomes Chennaiyin’s seventh and final foreign signing ahead of the new season. They will kick-start their title defence with an enticing tie against Bengaluru FC on September 30 at the Sree Kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru.
