NorthEast United FC have enlisted the services of Shouvik Ghosh from Mumbai City FC. The left-back made three appearances for Jorge Costa's side before making the switch for the remainder of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 season.

This will be Shouvik's second stint with the Highlanders, having played for them in the Hero ISL 2016-17 season. The defender made his debut in the Hero ISL with Delhi Dynamos FC back in 2014 and has played 32 matches since.

Shouvik is NorthEast's second recruit in the January transfer window. The club had earlier announced the signing of midfielder Panagiotis Triadis from Greek side Apollon Smyrnis.

Eelco Schattorie's side are currently fourth in the table with 20 points from 12 matches and will look to keep hold of their playoff spot once the league resumes from January 25. The Highlanders' first match after the winter break will be in Guwahati against Chennaiyin FC on January 26.
