FC Pune City ended the league phase of their Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 campaign with a 2 – 2 draw against Delhi Dynamos FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Friday. The Stallions hit back twice through Emiliano Alfaro’s penalties after Kalu Uche had given the Lions the lead at two different times within the course of the match. With the brace, Alfaro is Pune’s current top-scorer of the season with nine goals to his name. After the final whistle, the Uruguayan forward spoke to indiansuperleague.com and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts.

Your thoughts on the game?

Goals are important for a striker, of course. Finally, it was a very hard game for us. If you see Delhi now, they aren’t the same like they were in the beginning. They are playing very good. They have very good players with good quality. So for us, it was a hard game and a point is very good at the end.

How confident are you for the semi-finals?

Football is like this. You cannot win everything. Even bigger teams in the world lose some games, but this doesn’t mean they are coming down. We’re strong, and we will try to do our best in the semi-final and just now, we have to think about this.

Any message for the fans?

Thanks for coming. Thanks for the support and keep going. We need to show them many things on the pitch.
