Delhi Dynamos FC dashed Mumbai City FC's hopes of securing a Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 playoff berth by routing them 5-1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday. Nandhakumar Sekar, Matias Mirabaje, Manuel Arana, Kalu Uche and Lallianzuala Chhangte found the back of the net for the Lions, while Mumbai could only counter with a sole goal from Everton Santos. Delhi brought in their young forward Lallianzuala Chhangte in the 54th-minute to add more steel to their attack and he delivered without fail, securing a goal himself. After the final whistle, indiansuperleague.com caught up with him to find out his views on the match. Here are the excerpts.

The fans were chanting your name. How was the feeling?

It’s really incredible. I am so happy! We managed to take revenge because at their home we lost 4-0. So, we took revenge now and I’m very happy.

What has changed for Delhi Dynamos off late?

I think we are making our own mistakes right. We learnt from our mistakes and we didn’t make the same mistakes again. So I think we learned from that and as a team, there was great teamwork and that gave us a good spirit in the team.

Your thoughts on Miguel Portugal’s substitutions?

Actually, everyone deserves a chance and I am very happy for them. Nandha (Nandhakumar Sekar) has been injured for a long time and I am very happy for him. Everyone is ready now and everyone is ready to face the next match. There is great teamwork as we can see and it was a great decision by him. Everyone needs rest as there are games coming up.

What changed after Manuel Arana’s penalty?

I think that built our confidence like the last time in Kolkata. That gave us a confidence boost and we kept going and never gave up. We believed in each other and fought till the end.

Kalu Uche has become Delhi’s all-time top goalscorer. Your thoughts on that?

Yes, I am very happy for him because he is a great leader for the team and he unites the team.
