Two-time Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) champions ATK have confirmed the signing of Spanish centre back Agustin Garcia Iniguez, popularly known as Agus Garcia, on a one-year deal. The club announced the move via their social handle on Friday. The Spaniard is the latest in a list of high-profile foreign recruits like Roy Krishna, David Williams, Carl McHugh and Dario Vidosic who have joined the Kolkata-based club heading into the 2019-20 campaign.

Born in Spain, Iniguez made his senior professional debut for Spanish outfit, Albacete in 2004. After playing seven La Liga matches for the club, he moved to Spanish giants Real Madrid the following year, staying on their roster until 2009. During his time with the Los Blancos, he played for the Real Madrid Castilla - the club's B team.

After leaving Real Madrid, the defender turned out for several Spanish clubs like Cordoba, Alcorcon, Albacete Balompie and RCD Mallorca. He also had a year-long stint with Turkish club Orduspor from 2012 to 2013.

In 2016, Iniguez signed for Major League Soccer (MLS) club Houston Dynamo. Next year, he moved to Denmark to sign for Esbjerg. Cyprus -based outfit Nea Salamina Famagusta were the last club the Spaniard represented before heading to India. In total, he played 15 matches for them, with his last appearance coming against AEK Larnaca in early May.
