ATK FC face off against Bengaluru FC in the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday. With FC Goa sealing the top spot, ATK are confirmed to finish second irrespective the result, but the two-time champions will be looking for a win against a team, which can potentially be their semi-final opponents.

At the pre-match press conference, ATK head coach Antonio Lopez Habas said, “We need to win, just like every match. Bengaluru are a big team, the defending champions. It is a very difficult match for us. We respect the opponent and we have to play our best. My plan is focused only on Bengaluru.”

Speaking about losing out on the top spot to Goa, the Spaniard said, “I am professional. I am very happy with my team for getting a top four spot after finishing sixth last season and ninth in the season before. Maybe we were not good in the last few matches but Goa have been very good in the last few matches, and this was a problem."

"I cannot tell you what will happen in the future. Now, I only know one thing is that my next opponent is Bengaluru which is the last match in the league,” he added.

ATK are likely to be without defender Anas Edathodika, who sustained an injury in ATK’s last match against Chennaiyin. Addressing the veteran defender’s absence, Habas noted, “Anas is very important for us. His injury is a big disappointment for us. But this is football; it has good and bad moments and this is a bad moment for us."

Habas was joined by Regin Michael, who spoke about his time with the two-time champions since joining the team leading into the season. “In the beginning I was a little bit nervous because I missed the initial practices. After that the coaches gave me confidence and that really helped me,” he said.
