The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi lay witness to a seven-goal thriller as Delhi Dynamos FC edged ATK by a 4-3 scoreline to bag maximum points in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 on Saturday. The win leapfrogs Delhi to eighth in the table above ATK, who now sit ninth and are currently at the back of seven winless encounters. The visitors were leading 3-1 by the 58th minute before the hosts wedged a superb comeback. However, the performance of ATK’s latest foreign signing Sibongakonke Mbatha proved to the brightest spot in an otherwise disappointing night for the two-time champions. Post the final whistle, indiansuperleague.com caught up with the 20-year-old South African who scored ATK’s opener for his views on the match. Here are the excerpts.

Your thoughts on this match?

It wasn’t that difficult. I mean it was a good game and we started off crappy, but then we managed to pick it up and the first goal gave us a boost. Then came the second goal and then the third goal, but it was just unfortunate that we lost this game. This game was in our hands, but it was the attitude, you know. Now, we need to focus on the next team which is FC Goa. Now we have to fight against them.

It was your Hero ISL debut, so how happy are you with your performance?

Obviously, I am very excited. I would have been more excited if we had won the game because we were winning by two goals ahead. It is just unfortunate but overall the performance of the team and of myself (was good). I am very happy, especially for the debut goal.

How excited are you to play with Robbie Keane?

It’s an honour, honestly. Robbie Keane is a world-class player, and everybody knows that. That free-kick was something else and it shows that he still has it. It shows Robbie Keane is phenomenal and it was a memorable moment.
