In what proved to be one of the most entertaining matches of the season, Bengaluru FC came back from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw against Kerala Blasters FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Wednesday. Goals from Slavisa Stojanovic and Courage Pekuson gave Kerala a healthy two-goal lead at half-time. However, the Blues fought back in the second period with goals from Udanta Singh and Sunil Chhetri.

At the post-match press conference, Carles Cuadrat, head coach of Bengaluru, shared his thoughts about the captivating encounter. The Spaniard began by providing the reasons behind the many changes he made to his starting line-up, which seemingly upset the team's rhythm in the first-half. "You know the circumstances we are working with. We were playing at home, we had some points advantage, so we wanted to give a good show to the supporters. After some time, we saw that Kean Lewis was getting a lot of problems, so we changed it," he said.

Continuing on the same note, he revealed the logic behind the substitutions which he made at half-time, which saw Xisco Hernandez and Rahul Bheke come on. "Well, we tried to have the ball because we know they were more physical, but it was not working. In the second-half, when we put more talented players on the pitch, you saw that it was completely our game. Every player has different conditions and the players that we put in the first-half had different kinds of conditions. In this kind of game, it was not working well for us," he added.

From Kerala’s end, head coach Nelo Vingada offered his views on the match and said, "I think today we saw a great game and a great show. These are the kind of games that the Hero ISL needs. There was a strong intensity, many challenges, good chances for the teams. The first-half was amazing. At the end of the first-half, we missed the chance to kill the game. Today, we regained our confidence and our pride. The players had a good game. It was a hard week; some players were injured but we played with a lot of passion and made a lot of sacrifices," he proudly said.

Vingada also expressed his satisfaction with Kerala’s first-half performance and remained hopeful that the team will only get better. "I think today we could reproduce some of the things we practice in training. This game was a game with mistakes. But to be honest, I was very impressed with the performance of my team in the first 45 minutes. I believe with a little more confidence, we could have won. But I am happy, and we are ready to play the remaining teams," he said.
