Kerala Blasters FC have confirmed the signing of local boy, Arjun Jayaraj on a three-year contract. The official word, which arrived on Wednesday, sees the midfielder leave the Hero I-League outfit, Gokulam Kerala after a two-year association.

He made his debut for the club against the Indian Arrows on December 2017. Following an impressive showing in the defensive midfield role, the 23-year-old was made the first choice in that position. However, the youngster is capable enough to operate even further up the pitch. He played 15 league matches in the 2017-18 campaign, scoring a solitary goal. The midfielder also churned out two appearances in the 2018 Hero Super Cup.

The following season, Jayaraj further cemented his place in the Gokulam squad, playing 15 Hero I-League matches and netting once. Despite his age, the midfielder also went on to captain the club in two consecutive league matches that term. Thus, with a lot of potential yet to be unearthed, Eelco Schattorie will be looking to do exactly the same with Jayaraj when the 2019-20 Hero Indian Super League season comes calling,
