FC Goa bowed out of Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 after going down 3 – 0 to Chennaiyin FC in the second leg of the second semi-final at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday. The result meant a 4 – 1 aggregate victory for the 2015 champions even though the Gaurs had initially started well and were denied by some robust defending as well as fine goalkeeping. It was a disappointing night for Goa’s defence, including Chinglensana Singh. The 21-year-old shared his thoughts with indiansuperleague.com post-match. Here are the excerpts.

Your thoughts on the match?

It was very difficult. They scored the first goal. It was very unfortunate but we still tried and kept on going but their defence was very strong and that’s what it is.

What was the half time talk?

It was a positive message from the coach saying that keep believing and we can still score. All the boys tried our best and it was unfortunate that we could not score and we did not stick to our plans. But it was a positive message from the coach.

Your thoughts on FC Goa’s season?

We had a good season and we played a lot of good, entertaining football. But this is football you know. On any given day you can lose and today we were on the losing side and it is very unfortunate.
