Jamshedpur FC will kick-start their pre-season preparations for the 2018-19 Hero Indian Super League (ISL) campaign with a trip to Madrid in Spain on August 14. Throughout the month-long tour, the team will engage in a total of five games.

The Jamshedpur-based club will be stationed at the Los Angeles de San Rafael facility in Madrid and will face off against teams from the second and third division of Spain such as Atletico de Madrid ‘B’, Gimnástica Segoviana CF, Torrelodones C.F. and C.D. Mostoles URJC.

New head coach Cesar Ferrando will meet the players, including the new summer signings, directly in Madrid. However, Sumeet Passi and Farukh Choudhary are slated to join the squad later, as they are currently a part of the national camp for the SAFF Championship.

In a press release from Jamshedpur, Ferrando spoke of his excitement on working with the squad ahead of the new season. “I am really looking forward to meeting the boys. Since coming back from Jamshedpur I have been studying the last season and have already prepared a training schedule for everyone. The idea will be to create a good atmosphere, build up strong relations and make sure we work for each other. We have scheduled some practice matches and will add more once the team is settled here.”

Ferrando has also called up three youngsters, namely Mobashir Rahman, Vishal Das and Gourav Mukhi, from the reserve squad to join them in the tour. The club CEO Mukul Choudhary was extremely delighted with the fact that the three youngsters have been given the opportunity to train with the first team. “This is a great moment for the boys. Mobashir and Vishal recently graduated out of the Tata Football Academy and Gourav is a local of Jamshedpur. The exposure they will get is tremendous and Cesar foresees a very bright future for all the three.”
