Jamshedpur FC continued their unbeaten run at home in Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 as they came back from a goal down to beat Delhi Dynamos FC 2-1 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Wednesday. The win ensures Cesar Ferrando’s men stay in the mix for a playoff spot, while the Dynamos remain rooted to the bottom place without a single win so far this season.

After the match, Ferrando addressed questions from the media at the post-match press conference. Jamshedpur shut shop after scoring their second goal and took a defence-first approach to protect their lead. When asked about the lack of adventure in the final 20-or-so minutes of the match, Ferrando said, "For me, this was a very difficult game. Sometimes it’s difficult to play against good teams. I think they started very well and they scored. In the last minute when one team is losing, its normal to attack and we sat back in our box to defend. But I’m really happy with the victory."

Ferrando also provided updates on the absence of a couple of key stars. The Spaniard informed the media that Pablo Morgado did not feature in the matchday squad because of a fever, while Michael Soosairaj has resumed training but was not risked for this particular match.

He concluded by looking ahead to a testing run of fixtures which will decide whether Jamshedpur finish in the top four or not. "In the last six matches, we are going to face Mumbai, Bengaluru, Goa and ATK. This is the top 5. If we win any of these matches, it will not be just three points but six points. I think we need this break for the players to rest. We needed to win tonight. This was a very important victory," he said.

Delhi head coach Josep Gombau felt his team was hard done by once again and said, "We played very well today. We came here to a place where it is not easy to win because Jamshedpur have a very good team. I think we did a very good job. We had chances and started the game very well. In the first minute we hit the crossbar and after that, an important player (Adria Carmona) got injured. We had to make a change and also (had to change) the tactics. I think the second-half was very good for us. In the last 20 minutes, there was only one team attacking. This is what happened today."

Quizzed about the extent of Carmona's injury, which forced him to come off after just 14 minutes, Gombau said, "I think that he was receiving the ball and there was a contact with a Jamshedpur player and he got injured. It will not allow him to play the next game for sure. I hope after the break he will be available."
