Jamshedpur FC played out a 1 – 1 draw with Chennaiyin FC in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Sunday. Wellington Priori scored a stunning volley from distance in the first half to give the league debutants the lead, though Chennaiyin made their pressure count in the end as Mohammed Rafi’s 89th-minute header ensured both the teams shared a point each. Speaking to indiansuperleague.com post the match was Jamshedpur’s Brazilian goal-scorer Priori, who shared his thoughts on the game, his goal and more. Here are the excerpts.

What are your thoughts on the match?

It was a very hard game, but it was also a good game. Two nice teams, two good sides and two strong defences. Of course, I’m not happy because we drew this game. It feels like a game lost but let’s move on and go to the next one. I hope we can win the game against Bengaluru.

Your thoughts on scoring another sensational goal?

That’s just God and hard work. I’m a very humble guy and I think that everything on the pitch is teamwork and also faith. I think I have a lot of faith and God is blessing me with some nice goals as well as victories.

What do you think about your chance towards the end?

I just wanted to score. I really, really wanted to win this game because it was very important for us. But let’s move on. We cannot think about the past and it’s already in the past. So let’s go to the next one and moving forward to Bengaluru, which will be a very difficult game.

How will the team pick itself up after this game?

Yeah, it’s normal. It’s normal in football. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes you draw. Sometimes drawing feels like a loss because it was in the last minute, but let’s move on.

Do you think Jamshedpur will qualify for the playoffs?

Yeah, I hope so. We will be working for it.
