Jamshedpur have endured a mixed start to the 2018-19 season of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL). After winning their first match, Cesar Ferrando’s side have suffered three draws on the trot and will be looking to add another victory when they take on Kerala Blasters on Sunday.

Ahead of the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Spanish midfielder Mario Arques to uncover his thoughts on his time in Indian football so far and what to expect going forward. Here are the excerpts:

Is there added pressure to win against Kerala Blasters, given that they are a point below in the table?

All the matches are important and our philosophy is to always go match by match. For us this game is most important because we know that this is going to be very hard because they have had a strong start and we want to win.

You are already one of the favourites with a goal and assist. How does it feel?

I think this is only numbers. The team is working very well, we are improving day by day. We are getting clarity every day. Personally, I am feeling good in the pitch. I told you that the most important is the team and we are an amazing group.

What is missing in the squad at the moment?

We have had several games with draws. But we are playing very well. I think we are paying for our mistakes and it is important to know that. We want to win but we must be patient and trust that we are doing it.

Thoughts on your relationship with Spanish contingent of players in the squad

Yes, we are like a family. Not only with the Spanish players but with the Indians too because we share a lot of moments together. We are a very close team and we are like this is in the field. The most important is when we are together and believing in something important.

Is there any particular player that you have built a chemistry with?

All the players are improving, they are amazing. We have a lot of good players with a lot of experience. We are learning from each other and I am proud of everyone and this is the most important for us.
