Jamshedpur FC will be locking horns against an in-form FC Goa side at the JRD Tata Sports complex, Jamshedpur, on Thursday evening. The home side will be looking forward to claiming maximum points against the Gaurs in the hope of maintaining their unbeaten record in the 2018-19 Hero Indian Super League (ISL) campaign.

Sergio Cidoncha, Jamshedpur FC’s attacking midfielder, has played a huge part in the side’s success this campaign having been directly involved in five goals out of the eight they’ve scored. Prior to the match against FC Goa, indiansuperleague.com conducted an interview with the Spaniard. Here are the excerpts:

Have you set any targets for the season so far?

I am very happy with the goals and assists but I think the most important thing is the team. I want to help my teammates and the target so far is to just stay up the table and above the other teams and win matches with better ball possession and create better chances to score goals.

How has the fan support been so far?

Their support for us has been very good. The fans are the backbone of the team and I am very happy with this. I hope that they keep supporting us.

On playing against FC Goa

Just like the last matches, we have to work hard and keep playing. Keep possession and create chances so that we can score goals.

What has been your impression of the youngsters and what advice would you give them?

The young players are working hard, and they have to improve with time. I think they have to see how the old players play so they can grow to their level.
