A player who needs no introduction, Uruguayan legend Diego Forlan will be Mumbai City FC’s marquee player in Hero ISL 2016. Forlan began his career with Argentine side Independiente before moving to Premier League giants Manchester United with whom he won the league and FA Cup titles.
The former Uruguayan international then moved to Spain where he played for Villareal and Atlético Madrid in a seven-year spell that saw him find the back of the net on several occasions. He won two Pichichi trophies as well as the European Golden Shoe during his time in Spain.
Forlan also won the FIFA World Cup Golden Ball in 2010 and enjoyed a short stint in Italy with Inter Milan after the World Cup. He has played football in Asia with J. League side Cerezo Osaka before making the upcoming Hero ISL season his second experience of football in the continent.
