Hero Indian Super League (ISL) debutants, Jamshedpur FC came up with a solid defensive performance to hold NorthEast United FC to a 0-0 draw at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday. Their hero turned out to be none other than seasoned custodian, Subrata Paul, who came up with a string of amazing saves to deny the hosts three points. India’s ‘Spiderman’ spoke to indiansuperleague.com post match and shared his thoughts on the game. Here are the excerpts.

What is your take on the match?

We were away from home in the first match and we got a point, which is very good. The boys also fought very well.

How did it feel to come back here in Guwahati and play?

Terrific! This is one my favourite grounds. I love the people here and the people love me. I love to play on this ground. I felt a little bit nostalgic playing against NorthEast in the first match. But at the same time, I am happy with the point.

Coming to your personal performance, how important were the saves you made in the second half?

I did nothing extra. My job was to save the goal and I just did the simple things. We play as a team, we fight as a team, and we got one point.

Jamshedpur debuted as a club today. What are your thoughts on that?

For us, it is a historical match. Jamshedpur FC played their first match in Hero ISL. So, I just wish Jamshedpur FC does well this year and in the future.

Any positives from the game?

Yeah, we defended very well. All the boys showed character, especially after (Andre) Bikey got a red card and we were down to 10 men. We fought till the 94th minute and got one point.
