Lucimer Ferreira da Silva (aka Lucio) has loads of experience starting with his home town club Planaltina and spreading out to various leading clubs in Europe. In the 2002 UEFA Champions League final, Lucio, playing for Bayer Leverkusen, scored a goal against Real Madrid. His effort wasn’t enough to beat Real but his performance in the match got him plenty of attention around the world. Leading European clubs like Bayern Munich, Internazionale and Juventus showed their immediate interest in him.

He played in the 2000 Olympics, FIFA World Cups (2002, 2006 and 2010) as well as the 2009 Confederations Cup. In all, he made over 100 appearances for Brazil. Lucio was part of Jose Mourinho’s treble winning Inter Milan team of 2010, which defeated his former club Bayern Munich in the Champions League final. He made 14 appearances for FC Goa last season and will again be the Gaurs’ marquee signing for Hero ISL 2016.
